Welcome message of the organizing Committee of the JCA2026

The Journées de Chimie Analytique (JCA) is a scientific forum dedicated to the presentation of research work by well-established and renowned researchers and postgraduate students, and a platform for interaction and networking among researchers working in the fields of chemistry and related disciplines involved in environmental preservation and valorization of natural resources. This scientific event is held in university cities across Cameroon every two years, and is organized by researchers members of the Cameroonian Group of Analytical Chemistry.

This 13th edition will be held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from August 26th to 28th, 2026, at the University of Yaoundé 1.

Yaoundé, the political capital of Cameroon, is a city rich in history and culture. Located in the heart of the country, Yaoundé, known as “the city of seven hills”, is renowned worldwide for its hilly landscape. Founded in the late 19th century, it quickly became a major administrative center and, in 1922, was designated the political capital of Cameroon, solidifying its political and administrative role. The city offers a vibrant cultural scene, with music festivals, contemporary art exhibitions, and various cultural centers. Neighborhoods like Bastos and Nlongkak host numerous art galleries and theaters, reflecting the diversity of local traditions and customs. Notable attractions include the National Museum of Cameroon, housed in the former presidential palace, which displays unique and priceless collections of both ancient and contemporary artifacts and artworks. The Museum of Forest Peoples provides insight into the centuries-old cultures of southern Cameroonian communities. A visit to the Mvog-Betsi Zoo-Botanical Park offers the chance to explore the country’s rich local fauna and flora.

The JCA conference brings together more than 200 participants, mainly researchers from Cameroon, Central African subregion, and abroad.

This edition is specially organized in honor of Professor Ngameni Emmanuel, a distinguished researcher, educator, and long-time leader in the Cameroonian university administration. A vibrant tribute will be dedicated to this pioneer at the origin of the JCA, which has become a tradition and a benchmark institution.

On the behalf of the organizing committee of JCA 2026
